MAST x ISOLA @DDW 22

As designers, we are conscious of what we create and strive to make design choices based on both quality and environmental impact.

At this years Dutch Design Week, we are teaming up with ISOLA to create the “No Space for Waste” exhibition. We came up with a circular design that values production waste and turns it into exhibition furniture and scenography.

Curated by ISOLA the exhibition features product and furniture designs that minimise their environmental impact or are created out of industrial waste material.

The projects chosen give a new life to discarded products, raising awareness to favour a more sustainable lifestyle and giving this unhealthy consumption cycle a stop.

MAST feels the urgency to push exhibition design, especially if it is temporary, to be more sustainable. With the support of Fiction Factory and OneEightyOne we started to experiment with CNC waste, leftover production- and construction materials. As a result we shaped the perfect zerowaste stage for products and furniture designed by young talents from around the world.

Our work alone will not solve the problem, but we like to contribute and foster a new way of thinking and valuing resources and products. Putting more effort in the way we design to ensure a longer lifespan. Look for smarter ways to deal with waste that still can have a value and use.

We stands for awareness and conscious design choices during the development of all our projects. The light installation with the title of the exhibition has been designed from rest material and underlines the urgency of the topic. A clear and bold statement, what all the designers presented in the exhibition stand for.

Join us at this years Dutch Design Week @Schellensfabriek from Saturday 22 October to Sunday 30 October on this ode to circular design and creativity.
